Checkmate, complicated tricks
The first canvas of the peasant series. The figures of peasants were deliberately enlarged, distorted and simplified. Malevich resorted to layering, he layered the red figure onto a black background, making the figure appear deeper.
Constructed on a flat canvas, it is perceived as spatial, full of air and space, a picture of rural life. The author has reflected the meaning in simple figures. This proves once again that simplicity is the highest level of art. And so in everything.
